Last week I watched "Tales That Witness Madness", a quirky 1970's British horror flick in the vein of Tales From The Crypt & Vault of Horror. In one of the segments, a man finds an old Penny Farthing bike, y'know, one of those old-fashioned bicycles with one really big wheel and one small one in the rear? Well, when he gets on the bike, he is transported back in time and...well, that's not really important. There's one scene where the house that the Penny Farthing bike is in catches fire and engulfs the bike.
This got me to thinking of the Marvel Comics demon/superhero GHOST RIDER. I started to visualize The Ghost Rider on a burning Penny Farthing bike and this lead me to paint it all out the next morning-

Satisfied with the results, I posted it on my DeviantArt site- http://ragzdandelion.deviantart.com/ and low and behold, it became an instant hit!! I got tons of viewers and faves. At the time of this post, it has nearly 7000 viewers and over 800 faves, the biggest I've ever gotten for any artwork I've posted on DeviantArt since I joined it 6+ years ago. I felt like Jerry Lewis at one of his Telethons watching the numbers rise.
It's so crazy. I guess you never know what will "connect" with people and make it a hit.
All I can say is "THANK YOU" to all the people that took the time to comment and to fave this piece. It means alot to me!
Now I've got to come up with a cool frame for the artwork and make sure I take it with me to the conventions.
It made my week, that's for sure!
